About Lorna

Lorna is an artist from Oban on the north west coast of Scotland. She works with pressed flowers to create human forms, exploring the connection between people and nature.

Lorna hand-collects and presses most of the flowers herself, often from her garden or those of neighbours and family. She uses traditional methods, pressing blooms between layers of paper and allowing time to work its magic.

One of my tiny little, mini floral portraits. Experimenting with more of these using different tiny flowers, colours, layouts... They're like little floral passport pictures.⁠ Really enjoyed creating it😊
Look at these colours!!!! The golds, ivories, browns... so pretty! Even when flowers lose their colour and fade to brown there are so many shades, textures and variations that i still love which is why even "imperfect flowers" are important
