Colour Systems
I use pressed flowers, paint and grids to create colourful, structured arrangements from natural materials. I'm interested in our desire to organise and control nature, and what happens when we try to make something unpredictable fit into a precise system.
Some of the flowers are covered with paint, while small areas are left exposed to naturally fade and change over time. I like the idea that parts of the work will gradually change while the surrounding colours remain fixed. The flowers are preserved within the work, but are still free to fade and change over time.
