'Floral Soul'  reflects the calm and connection I feel in nature. Like flowers my work has layers of meaning. At its simplest level the shape is a reference to me. It’s my shadow on a sunny day and it represents how I feel when I’m in nature: in a beautiful garden or a quiet forest. That feeling of peacefulness and contemplation. I’m lucky enough to be surrounded by lots of nature up here in the north so there’s inspiration everywhere. At a deeper level the flowers represent us and the passing of time. They’re ever- changing, impermanent, varied and not all the flowers are perfect. Just like us the flowers will fade over time.
