Nautical Flags
This new series combines my love of pressed flowers with the bold simplicity of nautical flags. Traditionally used as a visual language between ships, these flags represent messages, identity, and communication—concepts that feel especially relevant in today’s noisy, digital world.
By using natural, delicate materials to create something so graphic and structured, I’m exploring the contrast between fragility and strength, nature and code. Each flag is built entirely from pressed flowers I’ve collected and pressed by hand, many from gardens close to home. No two pieces are the same, and the imperfections in the petals echo the organic, human element that gets lost in coded communication.
There’s also something poetic about using flowers—symbols of growth and change—to express something so purposeful and coded. These pieces feel like quiet messages, sent not across oceans, but between people and nature.
